Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who is the Truth! A recent Facebook post illuminated a great problem we face today that I have known about, and probably you have as well. It is the rampant false and misleading information that is being circulated today. When you get down to it, presenting false and misleading information is the same as a lie! We are living in the last days of the End Times. Scripturally, we know these to be times of great deception, and the only way not to be deceived is by knowing the truth.
I can remember my parents telling me, “You can’t believe everything you see on television.” I sometimes wonder if parents today tell their kids, “You can’t believe everything you see on the Internet,” when, in actuality, you can’t believe anything you see today ANYWHERE.
There is so much false information and deception out in the world today, which can be attributed to the antichrist spirits at large. They are working feverishly to prepare the way for the son of perdition, or the man known as the Antichrist. Satan has deployed these spirits, and the only tool they are equipped with is deception.
You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. —John 8:44
Satan is the father of lies, so that makes him the best liar there has ever been. All those dispatched by him and under his influence, draw upon this trait. Truly, deception is all they have because Jesus stripped them of all their weapons.
[Speaking of Jesus] Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. —Colossians 2:15
Second Thessalonians 2:6 states that the Antichrist must be revealed in his time, which is only a seven-year period. Such a short time span does not give him ample opportunity to gain influence on his own to accomplish his assignment from Satan. It is the antichrist spirits who have been tasked with presenting perverted doctrines, which allow deceived men and women to develop the philosophies needed for him to be widely accepted once he is no longer restrained.
These people are propelling lies and indoctrinating every realm of society they can. Such is a futile attempt to change the times in which we live (Dan. 7:25), so the truth will no longer be known. Recently, I heard former presidential candidate, Senator Rick Santorum, say, “If there is no truth, then it is impossible to tell a lie.” That is where we are today. Anything that is said can be considered truth because there is no one, or not enough people, speaking the truth to confront the lie.
Mankind is all too willing to accept these lies because the flesh likes what it wants to hear. It’s hard on the flesh to accept the truth. Not many want to share in the sufferings of Christ, much less show their love by following His commandments. We are commanded to speak the truth in love (Eph. 4:15). With the vast information available via the Internet, you can find statements to support any side of any subject today so as to satisfy yourself in your belief. Yet, we must renew our minds to God’s Word, the truth, and nothing else. Our interpretation (perceived by flesh) is worthless. The Word must be discerned (understood by the Spirit).
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers. —II Timothy 4:3
Philosophies can be found growing and infiltrating the government, schools, media, and even the church. This is why lies, misleading statements, spinning and twisting of the truth are seen everywhere you turn. You cannot afford to forward a story, quote, repost, retweet, or blog about anything because most likely it is drenched with falsehoods. Your discernment must be at an all-time high.
The New Testament warns us over and over not to be deceived. We are instructed to be aware of those who try to steal the truth of Jesus from us through philosophy. These philosophies are simply what the Bible refers to as “the way of Cain” (Jude 11), which includes trying to redefine what God has said.
Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. —Colossians 2:8
I mentioned the church as one of the places deception is growing because of antichrist activity. So much false doctrine (and the lack of the doctrine of truth) has entered our pulpits in the Body of Christ. Many are being led astray from truth, and Jesus says it will be so:
For false christs and false prophets will rise and show signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. —Mark 13:22
False christs and prophets are always antichrist spirits using people. When they influence those in the Church (the Elect), their deception is so strong that even some Christians can be deceived. (Notice false christs also use signs and wonders to deceive.) As previously mentioned, you cannot always believe what you see . . . there can be lying signs and wonders.
Even him [the Antichrist], whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders. — II Thessalonians 2:9
Signs and wonders are God’s confirmation of the Word. Beware of words or instructions that come after signs and wonders. Make sure they are not influencing you to behave in a certain manner that is contrary to the Word of God. Many use so-called “gifts of the Spirit” to manipulate people. This is charismatic witchcraft.
You see, the Antichrist (the man) comes after the works of Satan through the antichrist spirits that we see now. The powers to deceive in the End Times become great, and their signs and wonders are lies. This continues to happen during the Tribulation Period and such reaches a pinnacle when the false prophet seems to make a statue come to life at mid-Tribulation (Rev. 13:15).
Brothers and sisters, we must be on guard! I speak to you as Jesus did, “Do not be deceived!” The way to avoid deception is to be in Him, the Truth!
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. — John 14:6
Our time must be spent with Jesus in His Word and with His Spirit. We must have our place of living in the Scriptures so that we can be found in the secret place of the Most High (Ps. 91). Now is a time when the facts are not always the truth. However, He IS TRUTH, and to know Him is everything. When antichrists are saying the economy is failing, the country is going under, there is no hope, you mean nothing in this world, you have a terminal illness, etc., these may be facts, but they are not the truth!
You can prosper according to His riches in glory (Phil. 4:19), your hope is in the Lord (Jer. 17:7), your soul is worth more than all the riches of the world (Matt. 16:26), and by His stripes you were healed (Isa. 53:5)! These are TRUTH, and you must have intimate knowledge of the truth.
Remember, we are not moved by what we see and hear. We are moved by the infallible Word of God. It is the Word of God that makes things that are not seen, seen. So, we must always speak the truth even if no one receives it as truth because it will cause things to happen. The Word of God will not return void! It will cause things to come to pass—most importantly, the harvest of souls. We must not focus on the lies but on the truth!
At the conclusion of our services, we hear the minister call for those who wish to rededicate their lives to Christ, and rightfully so. We all need the opportunity to stop and think about our dedication to our Lord and Savior. Does anything keep you from spending time with Him? If so, simple and true repentance will put you back in position to receive the truth.
I am recovering well from my ankle surgery. The doctor says it will be another nine weeks before I can drive. Thank you so much for your support of Jesus’ ministry in your prayers and finances. The Father is answering your prayers and multiplying your giving. That is a truth I am grateful for Him fulfilling.
Michelle and I call you blessed healed and whole! Until next time, remember Jesus is coming soon!
